Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for a position on the 4th Floor East Wing, working in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU). The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care in a specialized environment, focusing primarily on adult patients and occasionally servicing pediatrics aged 15 and older.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Stepdown
• Number of Beds: 55
• Patient Population: Adult, Pediatrics (rarely)
• RN Ratio: 1:4 (Days and Nights)
• Common Patient Diagnoses: CVA, TIA, shortness of breath, COVID, subdural hematoma, weakness
• Common Drips/Medications: PCA pumps for pain management, cardizem, insulin
• Additional Support Staff: Educators, Care Managers, Social Workers, Dieticians, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists
• Specialty Equipment: Mechanical lifts available in every other room

Shift and Scheduling

• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Shift Times: 0630-1830, 1830-0630
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend

Qualifications

• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Certification, NIHSS
• Other Competencies: Telemetry

Important Notes

• Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care.
• RN candidates must pass an open-book exam on clinical skills during orientation with a minimum score of 90%.
• The unit encourages teamwork and aims for a supportive work environment for all staff.
