Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in emergency nursing with experience in pediatric care.

Unit Information

The Emergency Department provides care for a diverse range of patients, including newborns, children, adults, and geriatric individuals. Our unit features:

• 64 total beds with designated areas for triage, acute care, super track, trauma, CDU, and psychiatric patients.
• Common patient diagnoses including Stroke, Sepsis, Trauma, Myocardial Infarction (MI), Cardiac Arrest, and Respiratory Failure.
• Specialty equipment such as Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun.

Shift Information

This position requires working from 10:30 AM to 11:00 PM. Please note that block scheduling cannot be guaranteed. Flexibility to float within the unit is required.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Department.
• Experience with pediatric patients is preferred.
• Current certifications: AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC.
• Active New York license verified through NURSYS.
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records (EMR).
• Competency in administering a range of medications and drips, including pressors and anti-arrhythmics.

Patient Care Responsibilities

ED nurses are expected to provide comprehensive care to all assigned patients, including specialized care through the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) program.
