Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our MedSurg/Tele unit specializing in neurology. This role is primarily focused on providing comprehensive care to patients with medical-surgical and telemetry needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care across a variety of neurological conditions, including strokes and post-neurosurgery recovery.
• Manage care for patients experiencing a range of medical issues, including joint replacements, fractures, complications from chronic illnesses, and postoperative care.
• Monitor patient vitals and perform assessments to determine care plans and treatment effectiveness.
• Titrate IV drips and manage PCA pumps as required.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in unit orientation and training programs.
• Respond promptly to patient needs and concerns, emphasizing the delivery of compassionate care.

Unit Information

The MedSurg/Tele unit encompasses 25 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6. Our team includes nursing aides and patient care techs for enhanced patient support.

Schedule and Requirements

• Full-time, 12-hour night shifts.
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week.
• Must work at least every other weekend and 2-3 holidays from Thanksgiving to New Year.
• Floating to other medical-surgical areas may be required based on patient needs.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience.
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA) and NIHSS.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to manage a fast-paced environment effectively.

Mechanical lifts are available in every other room. We place a strong emphasis on hourly rounding and responsiveness. Ideal candidates are those who manage daily tasks effectively, maintain good attendance, and exhibit strong teamwork, compassion, and commitment to patient care.
