ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong critical thinking skills and a commitment to continuous learning.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: ICU (Intensive Care Unit)
• Number of Beds: 16
• Nurse-Patient Ratios: 1:2 with occasional 1:1 for TPA, balloon pump, recovery of crani

Common Diagnoses and Patient Types

• Young adults to geriatrics
• Sepsis
• STEMI
• COVID-19
• Stroke
• Neurosurgery
• Renal failure
• Respiratory failure
• COPD
• Cancer
• DKA

Responsibilities

• Perform bedside shift report and intentional hourly rounding.
• Titrate and set rates for various infusions including sedation, paralytics, pressors, antihypertensives, heparin, and insulin.
• Utilize advanced equipment such as Gaymar Hypothermia, Arrow Balloon Pump, Camino Neuro Monitoring, CRRT, Impella, EVDs, and lumbar drains.
• Monitor patients via a telemonitoring system and interpret telemetry strips.
• Float to other areas such as PCU and assist in various hospital departments as needed.

Qualifications

• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Minimum of 1 year of ICU experience preferred.
• Strong ability to communicate effectively with a culturally diverse patient population.

Work Schedule

• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirements: As needed

• Scrub Color: Navy Blue

Orientation

• 2 shifts of unit/department-specific orientation will be provided.
