ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in an Intensive Care Unit and possess the required certifications.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients with a focus on trauma, cardiac, and respiratory conditions.
• Monitor patient vitals and administer medications, including titratable drips such as cardiac drips and insulin.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Utilize advanced medical equipment, including ventilators and high flow devices, while being responsible for troubleshooting.
• Maintain accurate patient records and communicate essential information to healthcare team members.
• Assist nursing aides and support staff as needed based on patient volume and hospital directives.

Shift Information

• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Typical Shift: Days
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirements: Minimum of 2 holidays during the contract period

Qualifications

• Must have a current RN license and at least 2 years of nursing experience in an ICU setting.
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Certification, NIHSS.
• Ability to interpret telemetry and monitor patients effectively.
• Fingernail policy: Artificial nails are prohibited in patient care departments.

Additional Information

• Department consists of 33 beds with an average daily census of 16 patients.
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: 1:2-3 for adults.
• Support staff available on a variable basis to assist with patient care.
• Floating requirements may include assignments to PCU or MedSurg units.
• Self-scheduling is allowed for core staff; specific scheduling preferences may need to be discussed.
