Operating Room Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Operating Room Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will support surgical teams in the operating room, ensuring a sterile environment and assisting with various procedures. This role requires strong technical skills and a commitment to providing excellent patient care.

Job Details

• Shift: Days + On-Call
• Shift Length: 9 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Days of Operation: Monday – Thursday (with potential for Friday shifts)

Responsibilities

• Assist surgical teams in the operating room with the preparation of instruments and equipment.
• Ensure all necessary supplies and instruments are available and sterile before each procedure.
• Participate in the setup and maintenance of the operating room environment.
• Provide support during surgical procedures while adhering to safety and infection control protocols.
• Communicate effectively with team members and other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a similar role.
• Certifications: Current BLS Certification, and UAP. Certification as a CST or NCCT preferred.
• Familiarity with various surgical procedures, particularly in ortho and OB/GYN, is required.
• Experience with total joints and cesarean sections highly desirable.
• MAKO robot experience is a plus.

Additional Information

• Number of OR Suites: 6 Operating Rooms, 1 GI suite
• Common Cases: Adult, Pediatric, Geriatric, Obstetric procedures including total joints, cesarean sections, and laparoscopic surgeries.
• Orientation: 1-2 shifts of unit/department specific orientation will be provided.
• Scrub Color/Dress Code: Provided
• Floating Requirements: Typically do not float unless prior training in other areas.
