Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Telemetry Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced hospital environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in telemetry nursing and demonstrate the ability to effectively monitor and assess patients requiring cardiac care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a telemetry setting.
  • Monitor patient vitals and cardiac rhythms, responding appropriately to changes in condition.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Document patient care accurately and efficiently in electronic health records.
  • Assist with patient education and support for patients and families.

Experience Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Nursing.
  • Minimum of one year of experience as a Telemetry RN in a hospital setting.

Experience Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.

Licensure and Certification Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to float to acute care units or overflow/surge units based on divisional needs.
  • Availability to work every other weekend.
  • Willingness to work two major holidays, choosing from specified dates.

Unit Information

The facility offers a 36-bed unit comprising 29 rooms and 7 semi-private spaces. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3 or 1:4, accommodating a general medical-surgical/telemetry patient population.

Orientation and Credentialing

New employees will attend a comprehensive orientation, including hospital-specific training and virtual sessions on electronic health record systems. Credentialing requirements must be completed within specified timelines.
