Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team. This position requires working 12-hour weekend night shifts, from Friday to Sunday, 1900-0730. As a Telemetry RN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients’ heart rhythms and vital signs using telemetry equipment.
• Assess patient conditions and respond to changes in status.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health management.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement in patient care.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Telemetry RN in a hospital setting.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• Current RN license in Kansas and BLS certification.

Additional Requirements

• Floating to other units may be required based on divisional needs, including acute care or overflow/surge units.
• This role requires working every weekend as scheduled.
• Availability to work during major holidays is required; two major holidays must be selected from designated groups.
• This is a nicotine-free facility.

Orientation and Training

The selected candidate will participate in a comprehensive orientation program, including:

• KU NEO on Monday and Tuesday of the starting week.
• KU DON training on Wednesday and Thursday.
• Virtual EPIC training on Friday.

Credentialing Expectations

All credentialing requirements must be completed by the specified deadlines, including background checks and laboratory work within 72 hours of acceptance.
