Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (RN)

Position Overview

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse plays a critical role in delivering high-quality care to patients in a fast-paced environment. This position requires extensive nursing expertise, particularly in emergency situations, to assess and manage a wide variety of medical conditions for patients across all age groups, including newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatric patients.

Shift Details

Shift: 14:30 – 03:00

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients experiencing medical emergencies such as stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure.
• Utilize specialty equipment including Rapid Infusors and Arctic Sun for patient care.
• Ensure accurate documentation of patient assessments, care plans, and interventions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans.
• Float to other units as necessary to provide support and ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current and active Registered Nurse license in New York.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the Emergency Department, with pediatric experience highly preferred.
• Proficient with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), specifically EPIC.
• Current certifications required: AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC.
• Ability to perform charge nurse duties is highly preferred.
