Job Description:

The RN in the Progressive Care Unit will be responsible for providing advanced patient care for individuals with various conditions including heart failure, Afib, respiratory distress, and stroke. The role requires the ability to titrate medication drips and interpret monitor strips.

Responsibilities:

• Administer and titrate medications such as Cardizem, amiodarone, and nitro.
• Operate and troubleshoot CPAP equipment.
• Interpret and monitor patient telemetry strips.
• Participate in cyclic scheduling and meet weekend and holiday requirements.
• Float to ICU as necessary, given appropriate experience.

Requirements:

• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Must pass an open book skills exam with a score of 90% or higher during orientation.
• Adherence to the fingernail policy prohibiting artificial nails in patient care areas.
• A valid driver’s license needed for submission to confirm adherence to a 50-mile radius rule.
