Registered Nurse – Intermediate Care (Nursing)

Job Description:

Join our nursing team as a Registered Nurse in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), where you will provide exceptional care to patients with various diagnoses, including neurological, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory conditions.

Unit Information:

• Shift: 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM (Block scheduling not guaranteed)
• Floating: Required
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue
• Patient Demographics: Ages 18 and up
• Number of Beds: 64 beds (15 designated for Neuro patients)

Common Diagnoses:

• Neurological Conditions
• Cardiac Issues
• Trauma Cases
• Respiratory Conditions: COPD, DKA, Sepsis, Myocardial Infarction, CV stepdown, post-operative care

Specialty Equipment:

• Temporary pacemakers
• Chest tubes
• Arterial lines
• Bipap machines
• Neptune Vapo
• Chronic ventilators (unable to wean, respiratory therapist assistance available)

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) or Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Documented travel experience
• Current AHA certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Active NY Registered Nurse license and all RN licenses
• EMR experience with EPIC
