IMCU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced IMCU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in intermediate care and progressive care nursing, with a focus on diverse patient populations.

Unit Information

Unit: IMCU

Shift: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM (Block scheduling is not guaranteed)

Scrub Color: Navy Blue

Floating Requirements

Floating to other units may be required based on patient needs.

Patient Demographics

• Age Range: 18 years and older

Common Diagnoses

• Neuro
• Cardiac
• Trauma
• Respiratory Issues (e.g., COPD)
• Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
• Sepsis
• Myocardial Infarction (MI)
• Cardiovascular stepdown
• Post-operative care

Specialty Equipment

• Temporary pacemaker
• Chest tubes
• Arterial lines (A lines)
• Biphasic Positive Airway Pressure (BiPAP)
• Neptune Vapo

Ventilator Management

Experience with chronic ventilated patients is required; respiratory therapists will be available for assistance.

Additional Information

Number of Beds: 64 beds, including 15 designated Neuro beds.

EMR Experience: Familiarity with EPIC is required.

Qualifications

• Up-to-date resume demonstrating 2+ years of experience in IMCU/PCU
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Active New York nursing license, along with verification of all RN licenses via NURSYS
• Skills checklist matching specialty is required.
