Registered Nurse – MedSurg / Telemetry

Position Overview

The MedSurg / Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) position is critical in providing high-quality care to a diverse patient population within a dynamic clinical setting. This role involves managing both medical and surgical patients in a fast-paced, rapid admission unit.

Unit Information

The unit consists of 10 beds and focuses on the care of general medical patients and surgical patients awaiting surgery. The patient turnover is rapid, resulting in a unique and challenging work environment.

Patient Care Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care to patients in accordance with established protocols and best practices.
• Effectively communicate with patients and their families regarding care plans and treatment options.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Monitor patient conditions and respond promptly to any changes or emergencies.

Qualifications

• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the MedSurg or Telemetry specialty required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Work Environment

This position operates under a patient-to-nurse ratio of 5:1, providing opportunities for nurses to engage closely with their patients while managing a diverse workload.
