Registered Nurse – MedSurg / Telemetry

Position Overview

The Registered Nurse in the MedSurg/Telemetry unit will be responsible for the care of general medical and surgical patients awaiting procedures in a fast-paced environment. This position involves a higher patient turnover rate as it serves as an admission unit.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a 10-bed unit.
• Monitor patient health status and respond to changes effectively.
• Communicate clearly with patients and their families regarding care plans and updates.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Adhere to established protocols and guidelines ensuring safety and efficiency.

Patient Care Ratio

The typical patient-to-nurse ratio is 5:1, allowing for excellent patient attention and care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical-surgical or telemetry nursing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.
• Must possess effective communication skills and demonstrate the ability to work independently.
• All candidates must provide a work history/resume, skills checklist, references, certification card, and Nursys license verification with no gaps greater than 60 days.
