Registered Nurse – Medical / Surgical

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Medical/Surgical and Oncology to join our dedicated healthcare team. This role involves providing comprehensive care in a unit that accommodates patients dealing with complex diagnoses related to oncology, hematology, nephrology, endocrine disorders, gastrointestinal issues, dermatology, and general medicine.

Unit Information

• Unit Specialties: Oncology, Hematology, Nephrology, Endocrine, GI, Dermatology, General Medicine
• Common Diagnoses: Cancer diagnosis, Hematological disorders, End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), Diabetes, Gastrointestinal issues, Abdominal pain
• Patient Demographics: Adult patients, ages 18 and older
• Number of Beds: 56 beds within the unit
• Specialty Equipment: IV pumps, NG tubes, Chest tubes, and specialty beds (sand beds)

Shift Information

• Shift Hours: 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Floating Requirements: Yes, floating to various units may be required
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in Medical/Surgical and Oncology settings
• Current AHA BLS certification
• NIH Stroke Scale certification
• Chemotherapy certification required
• Active New York nursing license required
• Experience with EMR system: EPIC
