Registered Nurse – Medical / Surgical

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse for a Medical/Surgical unit specializing in stroke stepdown care. This role requires a committed professional to provide high-quality patient care and support for adults facing a range of health issues.

Unit Information

This position focuses on stroke, altered mental status, renal, dialysis, COPD, CHF, isolation, general medical surgical conditions, pneumonia, and other pulmonary issues.

• Unit Type: Medical/Surgical Stroke Stepdown
• Number of Beds: 64
• Common Diagnoses: Stroke, Renal Failure, Pulmonary Issues, and more
• Specialty Equipment: IV pumps, N/G tubes, feeding tubes

Shift Information

The position requires working the night shift from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM. Please note that block scheduling is not guaranteed, and floating to other units may be required.

Qualifications

• Active NY RN License and all active RN licenses verified through NURSYS
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical/Surgical nursing with stroke stepdown experience
• Documented travel nursing experience
• Current AHA BLS certification
• NIH Stroke Scale certification (can be obtained prior to start)

Patient Demographics

The majority of patients are adults, with a focus on a variety of medical conditions requiring comprehensive care.
