Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Summary

A professional caregiver responsible for planning, providing, and directing patient care and education. This role utilizes the nursing process in accordance with patient care standards and physician orders. The Registered Nurse acts as a liaison between physicians, patients, and families, collaborating with other healthcare team members. Additionally, the nurse assists in the orientation of new personnel and may participate in health center and department committees. The staff nurse must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to various age groups based on specific chronological, developmental, and psycho-social maturity criteria.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessments of patients, including safety and educational needs.
• Participate in the establishment of a collaborative plan of care based on assessment data, in coordination with involved disciplines.
• Implement and evaluate the plan of care based on identified patient goals and intended outcomes. Adjust the plan as necessary based on reassessment.
• Complete documentation according to established standards and utilize appropriate documentation tools.
• Assess the readiness of patients and significant others to learn and implement individualized education plans based on their needs.
• Actively engage in nursing department or unit-based initiatives, including providing in-service opportunities or serving on committees and task forces.
• Deliver age-appropriate care for the specific populations served.
• Perform all functions in accordance with established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, and applicable professional standards.
• Provide excellent service experiences to all customers by consistently demonstrating established Standards of Performance.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school and current licensure by the Ohio State Board of Nursing.
• At least 3 years of experience in OB, Postpartum, and/or Labor & Delivery.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current NRP certification.
• Current STABLE certification.
