ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in critical care and emergency nursing, along with the ability to perform essential nursing tasks independently.

Schedule

• 12-hour night shifts, 1900-0730
• Three shifts per week
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday commitments based on unit needs, with the expectation to work one major holiday from each group

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Critical Care/ICU or Emergency Department
• Strong critical thinking skills
• Experience with BiPAP, chest tubes, PICC lines, and drawing labs
• Ability to work autonomously without a vascular access team
• Comfortable conducting own codes and calling on own consults
• Experience caring for patients Day 2 or Day 3 post open-heart surgery, including managing pacing wires
• Patient ratios of 3:1 or 4:1

Licensure/Certification Requirements

• Active RN license in Kansas or a compact RN license
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• NIHSS certification

Floating Requirements

The candidate may be required to float to various inpatient units including Med/Surg, Med/Tele, Acute/Tele, and Emergency Department based on prior experience.

Orientation Requirements

• Orientation will occur over the first five days, including initial training at the primary location and additional training sessions.
• Attendance at virtual Epic training is required on the last day of orientation.

General Notes

• This facility is a nicotine-free environment.
• Patient care will be managed through an electronic medical record system (EPIC).
• Mandatory completion of a CBC, drug screen, and lab work within 72 hours of acceptance of the offer.
