Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

This role involves providing critical care and emergency services within various inpatient units. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in critical thinking and patient management in high-pressure environments.

Schedule Details

• 12-hour night shifts: 1900 – 0730 for 3 shifts per week
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday work based on unit needs, with flexibility for major holidays

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Critical Care/ICU or Emergency Department
• Proficient in the use of BiPAP, managing chest tubes, and handling PICC lines
• Ability to draw specimens for lab work independently
• Experience in calling consultations and managing codes without a vascular access team
• Experience with open-heart patients particularly on Day 2 or Day 3, including management of pacer wires
• Patient ratios ranging from 3:1 to 4:1

Licensure and Certification Requirements

• Current Kansas RN or Compact RN License
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications are required

Floating Requirements

Will be expected to float to ICU and all inpatient units, including Med/Surg, Med/Tele, Acute/Tele, and Emergency Department, provided prior experience is demonstrated.

Orientation Requirements

• Attendance at the initial 2 days of orientation at a designated campus
• Followed by 2 days of Director of Nursing training
• Virtual Epic training provided on Day 5

Additional Information

• This facility is a nicotine-free environment
• 8 hours of non-billable orientation before starting patient care
• Current EMR system in use is EPIC
• Bi-weekly pay period
• Certain shifts may be canceled with a minimum notice provided
