Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse plays a vital role in the patient care team, responsible for delivering direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process in assigned areas. The RN is expected to assess patients upon admission using various techniques to gather essential medical history, current medical status, vital signs, laboratory results, radiologic findings, and other diagnostic tests. In collaboration with physicians, the RN will participate in the planning and implementation of an individualized care plan.

Job Requirements

• Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
  • Active New Hampshire RN License required or eligible to obtain.
  • BLS certification is required.
  • ACLS certification is required.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience preferred.
• Professional Activities: Membership in a professional nursing organization and certification in a specialty area preferred.

Essential Job Functions

Assessment

• Able to perform standard assessments using basic medical equipment.

Medication Administration

• Must possess visual acuity.
• Good hand-eye coordination is required.

Communication and Documentation

• Maintains confidentiality of patient information.
• Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Patient Safety

• Fulfills standards outlined in job analysis.

Interpersonal Skills

• Interacts positively with team members and patients.
• Respects the culture, lifestyle, religion, and age of patients when planning or delivering care.
• Accepts constructive criticism and responds positively under pressure.

Shift Information

3 x 12 Mid/Evening Shift, 9 AM to 9 PM. Holiday coverage is required.
