Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

The Registered Nurse is a vital member of the patient care team, responsible for delivering both direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process across all assigned areas. The RN will perform patient assessments upon admission using appropriate techniques to gather medical history, current health status, vital signs, and results from lab work, x-rays, and other diagnostic tests. In collaboration with physicians, they will help in planning and implementing comprehensive care plans.

Job Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Licensure: Active New Hampshire RN License required or eligibility to obtain.
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS required.

Assessment

• Capable of performing standard assessments using basic medical equipment.

Medication Administration

• Demonstrates visual acuity and hand-eye coordination.

Communication and Documentation

• Maintains patient confidentiality.
• Effectively communicates verbally and in writing.

Patient Safety

• Adheres to established standards of safety and job functions.

Interpersonal Skills

• Interacts positively with team members and patients.
• Respects patients’ cultures, lifestyles, religions, and ages when planning and implementing care.
• Accepts constructive criticism and manages emotional responses constructively.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate from an approved School of Nursing.
• Licensure: Current New Hampshire RN license or eligibility to obtain.

Experience

• Clinical experience is preferred.

Professional Activities

• Membership in a professional nursing organization is encouraged.
• Certification in a nursing specialty is preferred.

Shift Information

• Night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM.
• Holiday coverage is required.

Minimum Years of Experience

• 3 years of nursing experience required.
