Speech Language Pathologist

Job Description

We are currently seeking a qualified Speech Language Pathologist to join our rehabilitation team. This position involves working directly with individuals to assess and treat speech, language, and swallowing disorders.

Contract Details

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Orientation Schedule:
  • Day 1 & 2 at Kansas City
  • Day 3 & 4 at Liberty
• Hours: 8-hour days, Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Weekend Requirements: One Saturday morning (8 AM to 12 PM) every 3-4 weeks
• Holiday Requirements: Required as needed; specifics will be discussed during the interview

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments for speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Provide therapy for bedside swallows and modified barium swallow studies.
• Document progress and maintain accurate client records.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient care.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 3-4 years in the field preferred; must have strong dysphagia experience.
• Licensure: Must possess a valid Missouri Speech Language Pathologist license.
• Certification: Vital Stim certification is preferred but not mandatory.
• Personal Attributes: Candidates must be self-confident, take initiative, and possess the ability to work independently.

Additional Information

• This is a smoke-free environment.
• There will be a non-billable orientation of 8 hours.
• Floating to different units is not required.
