CT Technologist
Position Summary
Under the general direction of the Manager of Radiology and the immediate supervision of the Lead Technologist, this role involves performing imaging procedures at a technical level that does not require direct supervision. The CT Technologist is responsible for conducting all general diagnostic radiographic exams and CT exams, as well as managing designated areas as assigned. Responsibilities include operating CT and X-ray equipment, preparing and administering contrast media, performing intravenous contrast injections, and ensuring quality control according to established standards and policies. This position is integral to contributing to the service excellence mission of the organization and the Radiology Department.
Responsibilities
- Perform imaging procedures using CT and X-ray equipment.
- Prepare and administer contrast media, including intravenous injections.
- Ensure patient rooms, equipment, and supplies are ready for procedures.
- Maintain compliance with ethical standards and organizational policies.
- Support the service excellence mission by delivering quality patient care.
Education / Training / Experience
- Two years of experience in diagnostic X-ray preferred.
- One year of experience in CT preferred.
Licenses / Certifications
- Current full certificate of Radiologic Technology issued by the Department of Health Services, State of California (CRT).
- Approved CPR certification.
- ARRT certification and fluoroscopy permit to be obtained within six months of hire.
- Current Radiographic contrast media and venipuncture certification preferred.
- Current ARRT license preferred.
- Radiologic Technologist fluoroscopy permit issued by the State of California preferred.
- Advanced certification in CT preferred.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of human structure and function, cross-sectional anatomy, patient care, positioning, and principles of radiographic exposure.
- Strong understanding of quality assurance, radiation safety, and specialized techniques relevant to the role.
- Demonstrated intelligence, self-motivation, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
