General Overview

The Polysomnographic Technologist is responsible for preparing adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients for sleep disorder testing. This position involves monitoring polysomnography and documenting results in accordance with established policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and equipment for sleep disorder testing.
• Monitor polysomnograms and document findings accurately.
• Assess sleep disorders, including sleep activity, abnormalities, movement arousals, and respirations.
• Maintain clear and effective communication with patients and team members.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the specialty area.
• Demonstrated expertise in polysomnography and sleep disorders.
• At least 1 year of direct experience in sleep study activity.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Current and unrestricted certification or registration as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) from the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT).

Holiday Expectations

Must work 2 major holidays from the following: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, and 1 minor holiday from the following: the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve.
