Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) – Generalist

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Generalist to perform a variety of diagnostic tests within the laboratory setting. This position involves active participation in the laboratory’s operations and requires floating within different areas of the lab as necessary. Candidates must be available for a night shift.

Responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostic tests across various laboratory sections including blood bank, hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, serology, chemistry, and limited microbiology.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of test results.
• Maintain quality control and assurance processes in compliance with laboratory standards.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth laboratory operations.

Qualifications

• ASCP or AMT certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS).
• Associate’s degree in a related field.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a laboratory setting, with demonstrated proficiency in generalist duties.

Working Conditions

This position requires working night shifts, with hours from 8:30 PM to 7:00 AM, Monday through Thursday. Flexibility to cover additional shifts is necessary. The laboratory has a 149-bed facility and supports the use of the MedHost electronic medical record (EMR) system.

Personal Requirements

Appropriate attire for this position includes red and black scrubs.
