Medical Lab Scientist

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Medical Lab Scientist to join our team. This position will require strong skills in Hematology and Chemistry, as well as the ability to float as needed in various lab areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests and analyses in Blood Bank, Hematology, Chemistry, and other areas as assigned.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Assist in the training of new staff and students as needed.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient lab operations.
• Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives.

Work Schedule

This position requires availability for evening shifts, Monday through Friday, from 1500 to 2330. Weekend shifts will be required on a rotational basis based on departmental needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Lab Scientist.
• Active MLS or MLT certification through ASCP.
• Experience with hematology and strong chemistry backgrounds.
• Familiarity with Beckman automation lines, including AU 5800, AU 680, DxH 900, DxH 800, DxI 800, Cobas e801, TOP 720, ABL 825 FLEX, Iris Velocity, and Iris iQ200.
• Experience with Beaker and AMS software is preferred.

Client-Specific Requirements

• Must adhere to a nicotine-free policy.
• Two shift cancellations per month are permitted with proper notice, without pay for the employee.

This position is available in the City, State area.
