Surgery Technologist (CST)

Job Description

The Surgery Technologist is responsible for preparing for surgical procedures, which includes pulling appropriate instruments and supplies, ensuring all instruments are in good working order, and reviewing case carts for correct items. This role also involves troubleshooting malfunctioning equipment, making minor adjustments, or coordinating with biomedical equipment staff as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

• Anticipate the surgeon’s needs before and during surgical procedures.
• Pass instruments, retract tissue, and operate equipment during surgeries.
• Maintain competency to scrub for all surgical specialties.
• Check surgery schedules and plan ahead for upcoming case needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a surgical setting.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification is required.

Shift Requirements

This position offers full-time hours with a schedule of four 10-hour shifts per week. Weekend, holiday, and floating requirements are as needed.
