Registered Respiratory Therapist

Position Overview

This full-time Registered Respiratory Therapist position requires the ability to work three 12-hour shifts during the day, with weekend and holiday coverage as needed. The successful candidate may also float to various units within the hospital, providing care to NICU, pediatric, and adult patients.

General Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform a range of respiratory care modalities as prescribed by physicians and licensed independent practitioners, in accordance with established department and hospital policies and procedures.
• Apply and manage mechanical ventilators, collaborating with physicians to recommend adjustments that enhance clinical conditions, patient comfort, and expedite the weaning process.
• Assemble, disassemble, operate, maintain, troubleshoot, clean, and perform adjustments on durable medical equipment and circuitry utilized in respiratory care delivery, following established policies and procedures.
• Conduct pulmonary and cardiology diagnostic testing as prescribed, adhering to established department and hospital policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in the field.
• National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) certification.
• Valid respiratory therapy license.
