Registered Nurse (RN) – Tele Float Pool

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for our Tele Float Pool, specializing in Medical-Surgical, Cardiovascular, and Neurological care. This position requires floating between various telemetry and medical-surgical units, as well as the ability to titrate cardiac drips.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in a telemetry environment, ensuring the highest standards of clinical practice.
• Float between all telemetry and medical-surgical units as needed, providing support wherever required.
• Titrate cardiac drips and assist in the management of complex patient needs.
• Complete a dysrhythmia exam prior to signing the contract and participate in simulation lab assessments during orientation.
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records and report any changes in patient condition to the appropriate medical team.

Shift Details

• Night shifts available
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Required to work a minimum of 4 weekend shifts per schedule (Saturday/Sunday)
• Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays

Unit Information

The Tele Float Pool serves multiple units, including:

• CV Tele B3A: 32 beds, providing care for post-catheterization and post-surgical patients.
• A3 Neuro: 28 beds, specialized in neurological care post-surgery and CVA management.
• MedSurg C5: 32 beds, primarily focusing on orthopedic, surgical, and oncology patients.
• MedSurg B2C: 29 beds, handling general medical-surgical patients requiring telemetry support.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a telemetry, medical-surgical, or critical care environment.
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS.
• Must possess excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to float to various units and adapt to the specific needs of each setting.

Additional Notes

All nurses in this position must be prepared for potential floating between units and hospitals with minimal notice. Orientation includes two days in each unit, with a focus on individualized unit protocols and patient populations.
