Nurse Manager – Infusion Services (CHEMO/Immunotherapy)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Manager for our Infusion Services department specializing in CHEMO and Immunotherapy. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and have a background in oncology nursing.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
• Active nursing license in the state of Alaska at the time of application.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional nursing experience.
• At least 2 years of experience as a staff RN in immunotherapy or chemotherapy.
• 1 year of supervisory or management experience is required.
• High school diploma or GED is necessary.
• Valid certifications in ACLS; PALS and NRP are preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide oversight for the financial performance of the infusion services department, including budget setting and cost-effective staffing.
• Coordinate the orientation and training of new nursing staff, and evaluate their performance.
• Make patient care assignments based on individual care requirements and staff qualifications.
• Review staffing standards and make recommendations based on patient classification and staff utilization studies.
• Revise and implement department-specific policies and protocols related to nursing services.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to conduct patient care conferences.
• Facilitate quality improvement initiatives to monitor compliance with patient care standards.
• Assist in the professional development of nursing staff through training and competency validation.
• Update job descriptions and performance standards as required and conduct evaluations of nursing staff.
• Effectively manage the staffing schedule and approve employee leave requests.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory agency standards and participate in nursing leadership activities.

• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Ability to remain calm and make sound judgments in emergency situations.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with patients and healthcare team members.
• Capacity to anticipate departmental needs and plan accordingly.

Work Schedule

This position is typically scheduled Monday through Friday during the day. Holiday coverage may be required.
