Unit Information

• Unit Name: Med Tele
• Number of Beds: 25
• Patient Ratios: 4-5:1
• Unit Specialties: Renal, urology, oncology, pulmonology, cardiology, and general medical-surgical patients.
• Staffing Description: Supportive environment with unit secretaries, tech availability, and a strong emphasis on teamwork and quality care.
• Equipment Used: EKG, bladder scanner, hoyer lift, Alaris pumps, and Pyxis.
• Documentation System: Meditech – EBCD
• Scheduling Requirements: Minimum of three shifts per week, including every third weekend.
• Floating Policy: Possible floating to similar units (Ortho, Neuro, CCU, CDU, SSU, Obs, Rehab).

Patient Experience Focus

The team prioritizes patient interactions through structured communication practices. These include daily nurse leader rounds to gather patient preferences and assess care quality.

Qualifications

• Required Skills: Current ACLS, BLS, Basic Dysrhythmia knowledge, and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
• Advanced Skills: Basic medical-surgical procedures.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications as noted above.

Dress Code

Uniform requirements include:

• Royal blue scrub tops
• Royal blue or black pants
• Grey, white, black, or royal blue undershirts
