Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Scheduled Details

Shift: 12-hour Nights (1900-0730)

Experience Requirements

• Associate’s degree in nursing
• 1 or more years of experience as a Telemetry RN in a hospital setting

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing

Licensure and Certification Requirements

• Active Kansas Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS certification

Floating Requirements

Candidates should be prepared to float occasionally to other units based on divisional needs, including acute care and overflow/surge units that house medical-surgical patients.

Weekend Requirements

Every other weekend is required.

Holiday Requirements

Must work two major holidays from the following options:

• Thanksgiving Eve or Day
• Christmas Eve or Day
• New Year’s Eve or Day

Unit Information

The unit consists of 36 beds, including 29 rooms and 7 semi-private spaces. The nurse-patient ratio is typically 1:3 or 1:4.

Orientation and Credentialing

New hires will participate in the following orientation schedule:

• KU NEO on Monday and Tuesday of the starting week
• KU DON training on Wednesday and Thursday
• Virtual EPIC training on Friday

Credentialing documents are due one week prior to the start date, with background checks and lab work to be completed within 72 hours of offer acceptance.
