Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for an inpatient rehabilitation unit. This role involves working closely with patients recovering from various conditions, providing excellent care and support throughout their rehabilitation journey.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 15
• Number of Staff: 18
• Staffing Model:
  • Day Shift: 1 RN charge nurse, 2 RNs, 1 CNA
  • Night Shift: 1 RN charge nurse, 2 RNs, 1 CNA
• Patient Ratios: 5:1, max 6:1

Equipment and Technology

• Vital sign machines
• Transfer equipment (Hoyer lifts, sliding boards)
• Electrocardiograms (EKG)
• Bladder scanners

Electronic Medical Records (EMR)

Meditech, Pyxis

Qualifications

Required Skills

• Transfer training
• EMR proficiency

Preferred Skills

• Experience in rehabilitation
• Knowledge of rehab scoring documentation

Typical Procedures

• Patient transfers
• Bladder scans
• Dressing changes
• Medication administration

Team Dynamics

The ideal candidate will exhibit a strong sense of teamwork and initiative, fostering a collaborative environment conducive to patient healing.

Required Certifications

• BLS certification
• Current RN licensure

Floating Areas

Possible floating to Med-Surge, Telemetry, Renal, Urology, Orthopedic, and Overflow Units within the region, excluding ICU.

Dress Code

Scrub color and attire will be determined by unit policy.

Unit Policies

• Bedside report and handoff
• Hourly rounding
• Ensuring bed alarm activation

Work Schedule

Requires working every other weekend and holidays.

Experience Requirements

Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
