Registered Nurse (RN)

Shift Information

3x 12-hour shifts – Nights

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a vital member of the patient care team, responsible for delivering both direct and indirect patient care. The RN will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to provide day-to-day care for children and adolescents aged 6-18 on an inpatient behavioral unit. Common diagnoses include major depression and ADD/ADHD. Key responsibilities include:

• Medication administration and education
• Daily documentation of patient care
• Monitoring and managing patient behaviors throughout the unit
• Participation in and leadership of education groups

Requirements

• Education: Associate’s Degree in Nursing required
• Licensure: Valid State of Maine RN license required
• Certifications: Current BLS certification required; CPI training preferred

Experience

At least 1 year of previous nursing experience is required, with 1-3 years of experience working with adults preferred.

• Capability to perform in stressful situations while managing stress appropriately
• Ability to establish and maintain professional boundaries
• Dedicated team player who is self-directed and can remain productive during downtime

Other Information

Holiday coverage is required. Candidates should be willing to float to Chemical Dependency/Detox as needed. This position is not open to previous employees or individuals with background/license issues.
