Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are currently seeking passionate candidates for a pediatric mental health unit dedicated to providing care for patients aged 5-18 who are experiencing acute mental health crises. The focus of our unit is on stabilization through a comprehensive array of therapeutic group offerings, including Activities Therapy, Mindfulness, Wellness, and Coping Skills groups, alongside psychopharmacological interventions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Provide safe, effective, and therapeutic nursing care to pediatric patients experiencing mental health crises.
• Facilitate and participate in group therapy sessions and therapeutic activities.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, documenting care and progress accurately.
• Educate patients and families about mental health and coping strategies.

Qualifications

• Active New York State RN License.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in pediatric mental health.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).

Preferred Qualifications

• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) blue card certification.
• Experience working in a large, academic medical environment.

Schedule

This position requires a rotating shift schedule, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, based on the needs of the unit.
