Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for a child and adolescent unit that specializes in caring for patients between the ages of 5-18 who are experiencing acute mental health crises. This role involves working with a multidisciplinary team to provide safe, effective, and therapeutic care aimed at patient stabilization.

Schedule

This position requires a commitment to a rotating shift schedule, including weekends and holidays, based on unit needs. Full-time opportunities are available, with shifts of 36 or 48 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to children and adolescents in an acute mental health setting.
• Participate in robust group offerings including Activities Therapy, Mindfulness, Wellness, and Coping Skills groups.
• Administer psychopharmacological interventions as appropriate.
• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to achieve patient treatment goals.
• Monitor and assess patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary.

Qualifications

• Required:
• New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License.
• A minimum of 2 years of pediatric mental health experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Preferred:
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) blue card.
• Experience in a large, academic environment.
