    • Number of Beds:
      • Adolescent: 18
      • Serenity: 24
      • Intensive Treatment Unit (ITU): 32
      • Senior Residential Adult (SRAD): 16
      • VINE: 9
    • Patient Ratios: Nurses 8:1, Mental Health Technicians (MHTs) 12:1
    • Unit Description:
      • Adolescent unit cares for patients aged 12-18 years.
      • Serenity is a lower acuity adult unit.
      • ITU is a higher acuity adult unit, focusing on patients with thought disorder diagnoses.
      • SRAD caters to patients living a senior lifestyle.
      • VINE serves as a lower acuity adult unit.
    • Documentation System: Meditech
    • Staffing Requirements: Coverage is required for three 12-hour shifts each day, seven days a week, including weekends. Please note that days off may not be guaranteed unless specified in the contract.
    • Floating Policy: Staff will float to areas of greatest need.

Role Responsibilities

  • Assessment: Evaluate patients’ mental health status, recognizing signs of psychiatric disorders, substance use, and behavioral issues. This includes comprehensive patient histories, behavior observations, and using diagnostic tools.
  • Care Planning: Develop individualized care plans tailored to the needs of patients with mental health and behavioral issues, including goal setting, intervention implementation, and outcome evaluation.
  • Medication Management: Administer psychiatric medications and monitor for side effects or adverse reactions. Knowledge of psychotropic medications is essential.
  • Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate, short-term support to patients in crisis, utilizing de-escalation techniques and appropriate medication management.
  • Therapeutic Communication: Build trust and rapport with patients through effective communication, active listening, and empathy.
  • Monitoring: Observe patients for physical and psychological symptoms, including vital signs, mental status changes, and medication effects.

Qualifications

  • Active Blue Card and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Dress Code

  • Nurses are required to wear navy blue scrubs.
  • Mental Health Technicians (MHTs) wear green or black scrubs.
