Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Adult Psychiatry to provide high-quality patient care in a supportive environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing patients’ mental health status, developing individualized care plans, and administering medication management in a variety of psychiatric settings.

• Number of Beds:
  • ADOL: 18
  • Serenity: 24
  • ITU: 32
  • SRAD: 16
  • VINE: 9
• Patient Ratios: Nurses 8:1, MHTs 12:1
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling Requirements: Coverage for three 12-hour shifts each day, seven days a week. Days off are not guaranteed unless specified in the contract.
• Floating Policy: C/L utilized where the greatest need is.
• Dress Code: Black scrubs for nurses; green or black for Mental Health Technicians (MHTs).

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ mental health and recognize signs of psychiatric disorders, substance use, and behavioral issues.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to the needs of patients with mental health and behavioral issues.
• Manage and administer psychiatric medications, monitoring for side effects and adverse reactions.
• Provide immediate crisis intervention, utilizing de-escalation techniques and appropriate medication management.
• Utilize therapeutic communication to build trust and rapport with patients, employing active listening and empathy.
• Monitor patients for physical and psychological symptoms, including vital signs and medication effects.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Active BLS and CPI certifications required.
• Experience in psychiatric nursing preferred.
• Strong crisis intervention and therapeutic communication skills.
