Registered Nurse – Pre-Operative

Position Summary

The Registered Nurse in the Pre-Operative Unit is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients before surgical procedures. This role involves collaborating with healthcare professionals to assess and prepare patients, ensuring they receive appropriate education and support prior to their surgery.

Schedule

The schedule for this position varies, with shifts operating from 5:30 AM to 6:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments for pre-operative patients.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Educate patients and their families on pre-operative procedures and expectations.
• Coordinate and communicate effectively with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient care.
• Monitor patient vital signs and manage any nursing interventions as necessary.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a pre-operative or surgical setting.
• Current certifications in AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH.

Holiday Expectations

Employees are required to work two major holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day. Additionally, one minor holiday must be worked, which includes the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year’s Eve.
