Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional patient care within our dynamic healthcare environment. This position requires strong clinical skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: Pre-OP 8, PACU 6, Procedure Rooms 4
• Number of Staff: Variable, typically 12-16 based on case volumes
• Staffing Details:
  • Pre-op RNs: 0630-1600 or 0700-1630 (2 RNs per day)
  • PACU RNs: 0800-1730 or 0830-1800 (3 RNs per day)
  • Procedure RNs: 0730-1700 (2 to 4 RNs per day)
• Patient Ratios: Variable based on the day
• Equipment Used: Olympus Scopes, ERBE, Medivator, ION, Boston Scientific, Cook
• EMR: Cerner

Job Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures.
• Assist in the pre-operative, operative, and post-operative phases of care.
• Monitor patient vitals and administer medications as directed.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain documentation and records as required by hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Required:
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications
  • Active Nursing License in North Carolina or a compact state
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in a relevant field
• Preferred:
  • Pediatric Endoscopy Experience
  • Pulmonary Endoscopy Experience
  • Endoscopy Technician Experience

Personality Fit

The ideal candidate will have a commitment to providing excellent patient care and should be comfortable with a work schedule that may require some travel.

Additional Information

• Dress Code: Green surgical scrubs provided; navy blue scrubs are also acceptable.
• Call Requirements: Expectation of 2 (24-hour) weekend call shifts and several weeknight shifts within a 6-week scheduling period.
• Floating Area(s): None, unless traveler volunteers.
