Registered Nurse (RN) – Postpartum

Unit Information

Location: Denver, CO

Unit: 3 North – Postpartum

Number of Beds: 23 beds

Staff Composition: Approximately 80 staff members, including:

• Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 2-3 CNAs, 9-10 RNs on the floor, 3-4 RNs in the nursery
• Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 9-10 RNs on the floor, 2-3 RNs in the nursery

Patient Ratios: 3 to 4 patients per RN (estimated)

Equipment: Main computer system – CPN

EMR: Meditech / CPN

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• Minimum 1-year current experience in an acute care hospital, specifically in Postpartum/Mother-Baby units
• Current BLS and NRP certifications

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in a Mother/Baby Unit
• Flexibility with schedule
• Strong adaptability to new situations

Typical Procedures

• Monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and managing perineal care
• Educating parents on newborn care, safety, and bonding practices
