Registered Nurse (RN) – Postpartum

Unit Information

Location: Wichita, KS

Unit Type: 5 Women’s Hospital/Postpartum

• Number of Beds: 29
• Staff: 61 (Day and Night Shift personnel based on census)
• Patient Ratios: 3-4 couplets per RN
• Equipment: Welch Allen vitals machines, CPN monitors, POC Glucose monitoring
• EMR System: Meditech / CPN

Job Overview

This role involves providing care for postpartum patients. The unit serves a high-risk patient population, with low-risk patients managed in a separate facility. The hospital hosts between 400-500 childbirths monthly.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 1-year current acute care Postpartum hospital experience
• BLS & NRP certification required
• Experience with high-risk postpartum cases is preferred
• Level 2 Nursery experience is beneficial

Essential Responsibilities

• POC Glucose monitoring
• Support for breastfeeding
• Management of postpartum hemorrhage
• Assistance with circumcision procedures
• Assessment and management of hypertension
