Registered Nurse (RN)
General Information
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The unit includes:
- 10 Labor & Delivery (L&D) beds
- 4 OB Emergency Department (Triage beds)
- 4 Antepartum rooms
- 2 Operating Rooms (OR)
- 20 Mother/Baby beds
We have a nursery, but we encourage parents to room in and provide couplet care. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery or 2 years of Postpartum/GYN experience.
First-time travelers are welcome.
Patient Types
Our facility cares for a diverse range of pregnant patients, including both high-risk and low-intervention laboring patients. Patient care includes:
- Antepartum
- OB triage/ED
- Postpartum
- Infants, including those with complications such as pre-eclampsia and hypertensive disorders
- Occasional post-surgical/gynecological patients
Patient Ratios
- Antepartum: 1:3
- Inactive Labor: 1:2
- Active Labor: 1:1
- Postpartum/Couplet care: generally 1:3 couplets, with flexibility for NICU moms or a maximum of 1:4 couplets
- NICU feeder/grower groups: 1:3
- Pediatrics: up to 1:5
Qualifications
Required certifications include:
- BLS
- NRP
Preferred certifications:
- Stable, CBC
- ACLS
- Certification in inpatient obstetrics
- Electronic fetal monitoring
- Inpatient antepartum
Experience with couplet care and GYN surgical patients is a must. Candidates should also possess skills in:
- IV starts
- Phlebotomy
- Magnesium sulfate administration
- Blood administration
- Insulin drips
If trained in L&D, responsibilities will include circulating C-sections and providing recovery care.

This position is available in City, State.
Support on the Unit
Our unit has a comprehensive support team, including:
- CRN who does not take a patient load but provides support as needed
- OB Physician team
- Anesthesia/CRNA
- Scrub Tech support for L&D RNs
Charting System
Experience with EPIC is preferred.
Scheduling and Shifts
This position entails 12-hour shifts, with variable start times (0630/1830 and 1830-0630). Nurses must be available for both night and day shifts throughout the contract. Weekend rotation is expected every other week, with potential flexibility.
Holidays and Time Off
Holidays may be required, and time off will be subject to management approval.
Scrub Color
Scrub color required is navy blue.

Orientation
Comprehensive orientation to the facility and unit will be provided.
Additional Notes
Floating to other departments such as L&D, NICU, Pediatrics, and PICU may be required based on staffing needs. The ideal candidate will have the ability and willingness to adapt to shifting demands within the unit.
