Overview

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). This position is crucial for providing high-quality care to critically ill patients and supporting their families during challenging times.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 9
• Patient Ratios: PICU 1 RN to 1-2 patients; Stepdown 1 RN to 2-3 patients.
• Staffing Support: Unit secretaries and tech availability; Health Unit Clerk works from 9 AM to 9 PM, with tech shared with PICU.
• Type of Equipment: Alaris pumps
• Documentation System: Cerner
• Scheduling Requirements: Must work 3 weekends within a 6-week schedule
• Floating Policy: Will float to Pediatrics and Nicu

Qualifications

• Experience: 1 year of PICU experience is required
• Certifications: PALS certification is mandatory

Role Responsibilities

• Perform IV starts, catheter insertion, and management, and assist with lumbar punctures.
• Conduct central line dressing changes and monitor hemodynamics.
• Provide tracheostomy care and manage tube feeding placements.
• Utilize ICP monitoring and ventilator management effectively.
