Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This role is essential for providing high-quality care to critically ill children and ensuring their safety and comfort during their stay.

General Information

• Unit Name: PICU
• Type of Equipment: Alaris pumps
• Documentation System: Cerner
• Unit Staffing Description: Includes unit secretaries and tech availability (Tech shared with PICU)

Patient Care Details

• Number of Beds: 9
• Patient Ratios: 1 RN to 1-2 patients in PICU; 1 RN to 2-3 patients in Stepdown.
• Common Procedures: IV starts, catheterizations, holding for lumbar punctures, central line dressing changes, hemodynamic monitoring, tracheostomy care, tube feeding and placement, ICP monitoring, and ventilator management.

Qualifications

• Required Experience: Minimum of 1 year PICU experience
• Required Certification: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Floating Policy: May float to Pediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care units as required.

Scheduling and Work Requirements

• Scheduling Requirements: Must work 3 weekends within a 6-week schedule
• Dress Code: Navy blue or white scrubs; either all navy, all white, or navy pants with a white top.
• Self-scheduling options available.
