Registered Nurse – Emergency Department

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Emergency Department team. This role requires proficiency in diverse patient care, including working with pediatric and adult populations. The ideal candidate will be adept in high-pressure environments and be prepared to handle a variety of patient needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department.
• Manage and prioritize multiple patient cases, including stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure.
• Utilize specialty equipment such as Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun.
• Conduct assessments and implement care plans for patients from newborns to geriatrics.
• Participate in floating to different areas within the department as needed.

Unit Information:

• Number of Beds: 64 (including 2 Triage, 40 acute, 6 super track, 2 Trauma, 10 CDU, and 6 psych beds).
• Common patient demographics: Newborns, Pediatrics, Adults, and Geriatrics.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in the Emergency Department.
• Experience with pediatric patients is preferred.
• Current AHA certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC (TNCC is required to be in hand).
• Active NY state Registered Nurse license and all RN licenses must be verified through NURSYS.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), specifically EPIC, is required.

Shift Information:

Shifts will generally run from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM. While block scheduling is not guaranteed, flexibility is required to accommodate department needs.

Additional Information:

Scrub color for the unit is navy blue. Candidates must possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage a diverse patient population effectively.
