Pediatric Emergency Department Nurse

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Pediatric Emergency Department Nurse with experience in providing high-quality care in fast-paced environments. This role requires a strong background in triage, trauma care, and mental health support for pediatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Deliver general pediatric emergency care to patients with a variety of conditions.
• Manage triage processes efficiently to prioritize patient care.
• Provide trauma care and support to children in emergency situations.
• Assess and address mental health needs of patients in the emergency department.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1.5 years of experience in a Pediatric Emergency Department.
• At least 6 months of experience in triage and trauma care.
• Must possess TNCC, PALS, BLS, and CPI or MOAB certifications.

Work Environment

• Facility includes a total of 35 beds, with 21 dedicated to emergency room services.
• Support staff available 24/7 to assist in patient care.
• Standard nurse to patient ratio is 1:3 for standard acuity and 1:6 for lower acuity cases.
• Technical staff to patient ratio is 1:8.
• Utilization of Epic electronic medical records (EMR) system for patient documentation.
