Pediatric Emergency Department Nurse

Schedule

Rotating shifts including days, evenings, and nights. Must be available for weekends, holidays, on-call, and callback as needed per unit requirements.

Position Overview

The Pediatric Emergency Department provides family-centered care for individuals under the age of 19 experiencing urgent and emergent issues. The unit consists of 18 general care beds, 1 critical care bed, 4 urgent care beds, and a shared 7-bed trauma bay with the adult emergency department. The facility is a Level 1 pediatric trauma and burn center, managing a complex case mix ranging from treat and release to acute critical care and trauma. Staff members are expected to thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment.

Qualifications

• New York RN license required
• 2 years of pediatric emergency department experience required
• BLS certification required
• PALS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Burn care experience is highly desirable
• Preferred certifications include TNCC, ATCN, or ABLS
