Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (Nursing)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to a diverse patient population. The Emergency Department treats a variety of cases including but not limited to strokes, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure.

Unit Specifics

• Common Patient Diagnoses: Stroke, Sepsis, Trauma, Myocardial Infarction, Cardiac Arrest, Respiratory Failure
• Specialty Equipment: Rapid Infusor, Arctic Sun
• Patient Population: Newborns, Pediatrics, Adults, Geriatric
• Number of Beds: 64 beds (2 Triage, 40 Acute, 6 Super Track, 2 Trauma, 10 CDU, 6 Psych)

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe and effective nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain a high level of organization and prioritization in a fast-paced environment.
• Provide care to various age groups, from newborns to geriatrics.
• Be prepared to float to different areas within the department as required.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with a current and active New York license.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the Emergency Department with pediatric experience preferred.
• Experience with travel assignments is required.
• Current certifications: AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC (TNCC certification must be in hand).
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), specifically EPIC.
• Documentation of skills and experience as per the specialty required.
