Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) to join our pediatric and oncology unit. This role requires a compassionate individual with pediatric hospital experience to provide exceptional care to young patients and their families.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Pediatric and Oncology
• Number of Beds: 19 total (13 pediatric beds and 6 oncology beds)
• Staffing:
  • Day Shift: 4 RNs, 1 Charge RN, 1 Respiratory Therapist, 1 Patient Care Technician
  • Night Shift: 4 RNs, 1 Charge RN, 1 Respiratory Therapist, 1 Patient Care Technician
• Patient Ratios: 1:3, 1:4, 1:5
• Equipment: Alaris pumps
• EMR: Cerner

Qualifications

• Required Certifications:
  • PALS
  • BLS
  • APHON certification for oncology care
• Minimum of 2 years of Pediatric nursing experience in a hospital setting
• Experience in Pediatric Oncology is preferred

Orientation and Training

New hires will undergo a 4-hour hospital orientation followed by an 8-hour shift on the floor to ensure a smooth transition into the team.

Dress Code

• RNs: All navy, all white, or a combination of navy and white
• CNAs: Galaxy blue (not navy)
• Sitters (non-CNAs): All purple
• Respiratory Therapists: Medium gray/Pewter
• LPNs: Sage Green

We are looking for individuals who are detail-oriented, organized, and possess a strong ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing high-quality care to pediatric patients and a commitment to continuous learning.

Work Schedule

The position involves working 6 weekend shifts, with 2 of those being on Saturdays.
